This ink is well named. It is a highly saturated blue, evocative of the deep sea at dusk. It flows well, and, as with most Diamine inks, exhibits no negative characteristics. It works well in both wide and fine nibs, though, as always, you will get more shading with wider nibs. I didn't get any bleed through in spite of the ink's rich color.

Sargasso Sea may work with an extra-fine nail-nib, but then you lose the expression of its color. It's not a horrible ink. But it fell short of my go-to blue ink. For inkophiles, this may worth searching out, especially if you like the blues. The 30ml plastic bottle is good for several months of continuous writing.

However, after I started writing with it, I started to see that it leans a little more towards the red end of the colour spectrum than Blue Velvet does.

Fridays are Fishtastic! Some folks expressed interest in my idea of a simulated ink stained finger accident. So, for the first pic, I dipped my finger in the ink, let set for 5 secs, then wiped it off with a rag. The second pic is after washing the stain for 20 seconds with the generic liquid hand soap we have at work.

For my 50th Ink Review, I will talk about another Diamine ink! Sargasso Sea is a rich, electric blue. The Sargasso Sea is located within the Atlantic ocean. Interestingly, it is the only sea without a land boundary! Its defining characteristic is the abundance of a brown Sargassum seaweed.

Has there been another recent Diamine release with such a high level of expectation? Even Brian Goulet was excited in his preliminary video review showing all the new colors. I was expecting a lot.
