THe tin lining cookes fine, use wood or nylon utensils and soak food off in hot water, it will last a long time. THe caution is: if the lining looks thin (plated) rather than hand wiped (irregular, even clumpy) Hand wiped is thicker and lasts longer. retinning can cost $60 or more, so better later than sooner.

In most cookware, the thicker the material it is made from, the better. When ordering a pan or a complete set, don't assume that all examples are of similar quality and of the same thickness. You should check on the exact weight of the item and ask about how thick the copper actually is.

Should I jump on it, or wait until the move to look for copper cookware? The brand is Baumalu but I can't really tell the thickness from the ad. Thank you!!

I don't have enough information on Baumalu's history and production runs to make a true field guide and in any event I don't recommend buying Baumalu for reasons I will detail below. Baumalu copper is quite common on eBay and Etsy and is not always identified as such.

SS is the better choice if it is not going to get the proper care. Baumalu is tin lined, and seems to be thinner than some other in lined pots. I am assumung you are talking of SS lined Mauviel, although they do make tin lined pans. Baumalu is the better priced of your choices. Get the 2 mm with no rolled edge. The rolled is a thinner copper.
