L'église Saint-Séverin reflète alors le plus pur style gothique flamboyant parisien. Au début du XVIe siècle sont ajoutées les chapelles latérales nord et sud. Enfin, au grand siècle, c'est la Grande Mademoiselle qui fait office de maître d'ouvrage. Elle fait modifier le chœur dans un style classique, qui plait au roi.
