A self-taught photographer and a graduate of the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Madeleine de Sinéty (1934-2011) spent forty years observing the daily lives of inhabitants of rural regions around the world. She was born in 1934 at the Château de Valmer in the Loire Valley in France. The last quarter century, she has lived in the state of Maine.
