It can be accessed by car, through paved roads that start either from Akoumia or Sachtouria. From Rethymno, you can reach the area of Triopetra in just under an hour (48 km) You might also wish to combine your visit with a stop in nearby Preveli beach and the homonymous monastery. Moving west from Triopetra, you will come across the beaches of Ligres, Katsouni, Podare, Agia Foteini and Gialopotama, before reaching Preveli.The road travels inland, through various charming villages.

How to get to Triopetra. From Rethymno town, follow the road to the southern village of Agia Galini. Turn left towards the village of Akoumia. Drive through the village Akoumia and then follow the only road (about 12km) to reach Triopetra beach. There are a few signs all along the road, but be careful in order not to lose your way.
