A great little trail exploring the area near the Myponga Reservoir, located less than an hours drive south from the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. The trail begins from the end of Hansen Street, where limited roadside parking is available. There is plenty to stop and look at along the way, including native wildlife such as kangaroos.

Explore the Myponga Reservoir reserve on this short loop. Starting near the Eatts St car park, the Spinebill Loop follows a short section of creekline which feeds into the Myponga reservoir. Prior to 2020 the creekline was significantly degraded and choked with weeds. SA Water has rehabilitated the watercourse, removing weeds, engineering the creekline to remediate erosion, and planting.

The walk through the woods and vinyards was very nice. I met some locals walking and jogging, and saw some vineyard workers. Other than that, I just enjoyed the lovely views and sounds of nature. Once in Grinzing, I walked through a couple of beautiful neighborhoods and then went to the bus stop in Grinzing to take Bus #38 back to Vienna.
